IOWA CITY, Iowa – This season’s title game didn’t have the same level of excitement as last year’s, but it was good enough for the Tar Heels. After being on the losing end of Kris Jenkins’ game-winner last year, North Carolina returned to the Final Four seeking redemption. They got it. Strong Finish to Regular Season Has Hawkeyes Eyeing Tournament Bid

IOWA CITY, Iowa ­– Sixteen days ago, any hopes the Iowa Hawkeyes had of making the NCAA Tournament seemed to have vanished. A four-point loss at home to Illinois on Feb. 18 was the team’s third straight loss, and the remaining schedule was not exactly favorable. The schedule didn’t get easier, but the Hawkeyes did get better. After beating Indiana 96-90 in overtime, Iowa had to hit the road for two games in a row, both versus ranked opponents. IOWA CITY, Iowa – It’s almost time for March Madness, but for some teams, the madness has already begun. According to ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi, seven Big Ten teams are currently in the field of 68 for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. IOWA CITY, Iowa – Another sluggish start appeared to have the Hawkeyes well on their way to a fourth straight loss, this time to the hands of the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hawkeyes had other plans. After falling behind by as many as 13 in the first half, the Hawkeyes rallied to force overtime and held on to beat Indiana 96-90. It was a total team effort for the Hawkeyes in this one. IOWA CITY, Iowa – Sometimes the ball just doesn’t bounce your way. The Hawkeyes had plenty of chances to keep the game close late against Illinois, but the ball just wouldn’t find the bottom of the net. IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a sluggish start against Maryland, the Iowa men’s basketball team finally found some energy that had been lacking since they suffered a lopsided loss at Northwestern on Sunday.
