IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Hawkeyes and the Pirates of Seton Hall went down to the wire last night in a game that featured 11 lead changes, but it was the Pirates that would escape Iowa City with a 91-83 victory in this Gavitt Games matchup. The new-look Hawkeyes (2-1) faced their toughest test as the reigning Big East champions came to Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and the team struggled with turnovers against a bigger, quicker opponent. IOWA CITY, Iowa – The #3 ranked team in the country came into Kinnick Stadium last night as a 21+ point favorite to win the game, but don’t tell the Iowa Hawkeyes that. Keith Duncan’s 33-yard field goal as time expired lifted Iowa to a thrilling 14-13 upset victory over #3 Michigan (9-1, 6-1) as the Iowa faithful stormed the field to celebrate the team’s first home win over a ranked opponent since they beat Michigan 37-6 in 2010. “It was an incredible feeling kicking that in front of 70,000 fans,” said the freshman kicker following his first career game-winner. … Continued

The Hawkeyes had to deal with #10 Wisconsin’s running back Corey Clements, who led all rushers with a career-high 35 rushes for 134 yards and a touchdown. For the most part, the Hawkeyes held Clements in check, as he only … Continued

You would not have known it after watching their offense work against the Iowa defense. In their 38-31 victory over Iowa, the Wildcats gained 198 yards in the rushing game and 164 through the air, with the bulk of those yards going to just two players. Justin Jackson led all rushers with 26 attempts for 171 net yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats. No other Wildcat gained more than 19 … Continued

Last year the depth of the Hawkeyes’ basketball team was one of it’s best strengths. This year is no different, especially in the backcourt. Head coach Fran McCaffery addressed the media Thursday for the annual Iowa Hoops Media Day at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, receiving questions regarding the potential players who could start at shooting guard. “I would say it’s an open spot,” McCaffery said. “I think you can look at it two ways. Obviously Josh and Pete would be the logical place to start.” According to McCaffery, both players have established themselves nicely. Last season, Josh Oglesby was named the team’s Most … Continued
