After listening to a lot of jazz over the past week, culminating in an amazing performance by renowned trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and the PUBLIQuartet last Friday at the Stop/Time Festival presented by Hancher Auditorium, I’ve come to the conclusion that most jazz isn’t meant for an audience at all.

The most prestigious of the annual individual player awards in the NBA is, without question, the Most Valuable Player award. When are the Lakers going to get it together? Remember at the start of the NBA season when the Lakers was struggling? Remember when the Lakers started the season off with a 1-4 record, which made the Los Angeles Lakers decide to fire their head coach Mike Brown. Now look at where they are.
