As most of the State of Iowa knows by now, Iowa and Iowa State men’s basketball teams will face off December 13th on ESPNU. Coming into this season, the “sophomore slump” question was on everyone’s mind for Johnny Manziel. He came out of nowhere last season and led Texas A&M to a 11-2 season, including a 41-13 dismantling of Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. After being down by as many as 20 in the first half, Iowa women’s basketball couldn’t battle back against the No. 16 ranked Colorado Buffaloes. Iowa ended up losing the game 90-87 despite the fact that Iowa played a sloppy first half in their first road game. Samantha Logic did everything in her power to try and give Iowa their first lead of the game late, but came up short finishing with 26 points, 6 assists.
