Interview: KRUI With The Plain White T’s

At When We Were Young 2025, fellow Chicago area natives Plain White T’s sat down with me as we discussed how the local scene has changed, their tour with We The Kings, and how Las Vegas scares us all the slightest bit. We started the conversation out by sharing a mutual love of Death Cab for Cutie:

IOWA CITY, Iowa– The Illinois Fighting Illini (17-11, 7-8) traveled to snowy Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes (18-10, 9-6) in front of a paid attendance crowd of 14,831 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. This is what baseball was supposed to be. Monstrous home runs, blinding strikeouts and game winning hits are what we as baseball fans hope to see during the long 162 game … Continued

The Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team finally made the national sports’ talking head show cycle this week. It would be a pleasant idea to think that they were in the news because they just came off what was probably their best two game stretch of the season, blowout victories on the road against Michigan and at home against then 16th ranked Maryland. Unfortunately, that was not case. The Hawks hit the Around the Horn, PTI, His and Hers talking head cycle after Junior Center Adam Woodbury poked Maryland Freshman Melo Trimble in the eye. On paper, that sounds like it could … Continued
