With 15 days of games left in the NBA season the race for the final playoffs push is getting heated up especially in the western conference. Although seeds 1-7 may be already given and may endure small changes the west 8th spot is still wide open. This week the University of Mississippi’s men’s basketball team was eliminated from the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in the round of 32.  That fact is nothing remarkable.  What is remarkable; however, is the dichotomy that exists in the state regarding the symbols used by the university and in the state flag and what that dichotomy tells us about our society. Calgary Flames captain, Jarome Iginla, has been quite the name in trade talk around the NHL. With many teams shopping around before the trade deadline, Iginla has been a major point of interest for several teams.
