Festival Preview: Chicago’s New Year Transitions, Dec. 26–Jan. 1st

Spanning 7 venues across 7 days, Transitions, the New Years Eve celebration by AURIS PRESENTS, in downtown Chicago has cultivated a lineup of the biggest names spinning records and electronica today. From December 26 – January 1st, Chicagoland will be ablaze as it welcomes the likes of 70 artists and a 21-hour marathon to ring in the new year at Outset. Here are the highlights coming this week to Chicago. 

IOWA CITY, Iowa – It’s almost time for March Madness, but for some teams, the madness has already begun. According to ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi, seven Big Ten teams are currently in the field of 68 for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. That is second only to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) who boasts ten as of Feb. 23. For much of the season, the Big Ten has not been given a whole lot of national respect. By Mark Freie IOWA CITY, Iowa – Michigan State Spartans senior guard Travis Trice poured in 25 points as the Spartans defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 75-61 on Thursday night in Iowa City. The night for Iowa Hawkeyes (11-5, 9-2) as the Hawkeyes went into halftime with a 39-28 lead. IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-59 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Monday night. The Hawkeyes reached the 2-0 mark in Big Ten Conference play for the first time since the 2002-2003 season. Iowa (11-4, 2-0) started the first half on a tear as they drove to the basket early and often allowing the team to go 15-19 from the free throw line. Hawkeye senior Aaron White surpassed Roy Marble’s career free throw mark of 516, making him the all-time leader in free throws at Iowa.
