Around the Big Ten: Week 10

It’s been a minute since we last checked in on the Big Ten, but a few general trends have continued over the past couple of weeks. Michigan and Oregon keep spiraling, UCLA and Indiana keep winning, and here in Iowa City, the Hawkeyes seem to be more of a week-to-week thing. Let’s check out some of the biggest games coming up in this first weekend of November.

The Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team finally made the national sports’ talking head show cycle this week. It would be a pleasant idea to think that they were in the news because they just came off what was probably their best two game stretch of the season, blowout victories on the road against Michigan and at home against then 16th ranked Maryland. Aaron White sets free-throw record as Iowa defeats Nebraska

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-59 inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Monday night. The Hawkeyes reached the 2-0 mark in Big Ten Conference play for the first time since the 2002-2003 season. Iowa (11-4, 2-0) started the first half on a tear as they drove to the basket early and often allowing the team to go 15-19 from the free throw line.
