Not since the winter of 1985 to be exact when star quarterback Chuck Long announced he would return to Iowa to help the Hawkeyes get a shot at a national championship and a Heisman Trophy. 28-year-old Tremayne “Duke” Clemons has been falsely accused of a shooting in Coralville, and eight months later is still in jail. He has not been able to post bail or bond even thought he has already been proven innocent. Police raided Duke’s home and took him into custody January 7. He was questioned and was able to prove that he had no connection, but was held in jail. Polices obtained an illegal urine sample, and since Duke had marijuana in his system they felt that they could keep him in custody. Duke’s trial is set for August 17, and he … Continued
