The Iowa men’s and women’s basketball teams will make their first public appearance of the season on Oct. 19 in the Black and Gold Blowout, which will take place in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The event begins at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7 p.m. More details on the season-opening appearance were released Wednesday by the UI Athletics Department. The men of the Iowa Football Team were not the only Hawkeyes take on a Big 10 foe on Saturday. The Iowa Volleyball team took on the #24th ranked Michigan State Spartans Saturday night on Mediacom Court in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
