At the onset, the beginning of year #2 is nothing but excitement. Following a freshmen campaign of uneasiness, unavoidable pitfall and the crushing hit of blindsided reality, the sophomore calendar, at its core, should feel easier. How bad has the Colorado Football Program been in the past seven years? Really bad. They have had zero winning seasons, have lost to two FCS teams, have made just one bowl game, and have been irrelevant throughout the College Football landscape. It wasn’t easy, but for the first time since October 12th of last season, the Iowa Hawkeyes (1-1) heard a victorious fight song as they headed up the end zone tunnel at Kinnick Stadium Saturday. The Hawkeyes snapped a seven game losing streak in a 28-14 victory over the Missouri State Bears (0-2). The Hawkeyes second drive of the game was an effective one.
