IOWA CITY – The Hawkeyes seemingly just needed something positive to go their way following two consecutive losses to in-state foes Iowa State and UNI. They got that on Monday night with an 80-70 hard-fought win over North Florida. Hawkeyes shooting woes continue against Iowa State. By Mark Freie (@markfreie) IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa State Cyclones (7-1) saw five different players reach double-digit scoring totals in their 90-75 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes (8-3) on Friday night. Cyclone junior Naz Long led all scorers for the Cyclones with 21 points including five 3-point shots. The (8-2) Iowa Hawkeyes and the Alcorn State Braves (1-6) tipped off tonight inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Aaron White bobble head night. Entering tonight’s game, the Hawkeyes, as a 30-point favorite, looked to get their 400th win inside Carver-Hawkeye, and they did just that, defeating the Braves 67-44. IOWA CITY- After traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. and upsetting the 12th ranked Tar Heels on the road, the Iowa Hawkeyes (6-2) looked to win their 5th straight when the University of Maryland-Baltimore County Retrievers (0-7) visited Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Sparked by Peter Jok’s two three pointers and an Aaron White thunderous dunk, Iowa got out to a 20 to 6 lead, which came on a 20-0 Hawkeye run.
