With the end of 2024, some of the KRUI staff made a playlist of their favorite songs released in the past year. Here are the tracks they picked along with why these songs were their favorite.

Hawkeyes Bounced From NIT

Iowa City – In the second round of the NIT the Iowa Hawkeyes took on 4th seeded TCU at Carver Hawkeye Arena on Sunday afternoon in front of a sell-out crowd. For post season basketball it was the type of atmosphere that any kid dreams of playing in front of. What kids don’t dream of is committing 12 turnovers in the first half. Led by three steals from Sophomore Guard Alex Robinson (who was receiving the start after All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, Jaylen Fisher, broke his wrist) TCU turned those turnovers into 21 points. Wherever there are fanatic sports fans, there is major criticism of the coaching. Although the criticism tends to be fair at times and certainly unfair at others, it is always present. The University of Iowa is no exception. The absence of professional sports teams and presence of a major Big Ten school brings intense and loyal fans.
