Vaccines in Iowa: How are we doing?

As of April 5th, all Iowans are eligible to receive vaccinations. Previously, state guidelines restricted vaccines to high-risk groups such as essential workers, adults aged 65 and up, or people with pre-existing medical conditions. Now that eligibility has expanded, securing an appointment may be a difficult task. (image via Global Gazette)

Iowa Spring Practice: QB’s duel, youth arrives, and defense shines

Not since Iowa beat Illinois 19-10 on Senior Day in 2019 had the Hawkeyes played in front of home fans outside of friends and family. That streak ended Saturday morning as Iowa held it’s first of two open practices this spring with fans in attendance. Fans arrived as early as before 7 AM to get the first chance to see their Hawkeyes in person since November of 2019. The Hawkeyes Test Michigan State, but Fall Short

  Iowa City, IA- The Hawkeyes put on a real show last night against the 23-3 Spartans. They opened the night as 10 point underdogs, but battled their way to take the lead with four minutes left. To only come up short 96-93. It was a back and forth game throughout, with neither team giving an inch. Michigan State came out of the gates fast and opened up a ten point lead early in the first. IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Hawkeyes’ NCAA tournament push fell short in Washington D.C. with a 95-73 loss to Indiana. Despite Iowa not making the cut to get into March Madness, fans are still going to be locked to their TV’s for the next three weekends. CBS reviled the field of 68 Sunday afternoon, leading most college basketball fans around the country to fill out their brackets. IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Hawkeyes were playing at full capacity going (2-1) this weekend at the DQ Classic. The Hawkeyes had a closer than wanted (7-6) win against Hawaii, a surprising (7-3) win against Oral Roberts, and a close (6-3) loss against Minnesota.   Weekend Summary:   The first game of the weekend against Hawaii featured the Iowa batters once again being on fire as they chalked up a season high 17 hits and 7 runs with 2 HRs. IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a successful (2-1) weekend in Alabama, the Hawkeyes are now officially above .500. Going into the week, Iowa was (1-2) hoping to recover from last weekend’s disappointing series with University of South Florida. The Hawkeyes did just that with a powerful win over Loras College on Wednesday, with an even better chance to improve at the Hoover Classic. The game started off strong for the Hawkeyes as they began the game off with a bang.
