IOWA CITY, Ia. – Coming off a disappointing collapse in a road defeat to Virginia Tech in the ACC–Big Ten Challenge, the Iowa Hawkeyes were looking to establish themselves as Big Ten conference play opened against Penn State on Saturday. Cook and Garza Dominate as Hawks Blowout Crusaders

Tyler Cook and Luka Garza stood tall metaphorically and literally as the two Iowa posts combined for 42 of the Hawkeye’s 96 points in their 96-64 victory over Division II foe, Belmont Abbey. Cook showed off his high-flying exploits several times as he soared in for many dunks against the over-matched Crusader posts. Iowa City – In the second round of the NIT the Iowa Hawkeyes took on 4th seeded TCU at Carver Hawkeye Arena on Sunday afternoon in front of a sell-out crowd. IOWA CITY, Iowa ­– Sixteen days ago, any hopes the Iowa Hawkeyes had of making the NCAA Tournament seemed to have vanished. A four-point loss at home to Illinois on Feb. 18 was the team’s third straight loss, and the remaining schedule was not exactly favorable. Comeback Attempt Falls Short for Hawkeyes

IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a sluggish start against Maryland, the Iowa men’s basketball team finally found some energy that had been lacking since they suffered a lopsided loss at Northwestern on Sunday.
