Interview: KRUI With The Plain White T’s

At When We Were Young 2025, fellow Chicago area natives Plain White T’s sat down with me as we discussed how the local scene has changed, their tour with We The Kings, and how Las Vegas scares us all the slightest bit. We started the conversation out by sharing a mutual love of Death Cab for Cutie:

Mister Miracle was a 12-issue limited series written by Tom King, illustrated by Mitch Gerads, and published monthly by DC Comics. The final issue of the limited series was released on November 14th. Tom King and Mitch Gerads both won Eisner Awards, the highest award offered in the comics industry, for their work on this series. The pair previously worked on The Sheriff of Babylon, a 12-issue series published under Dc’s adult-oriented Vertigo imprint. In my quest to be ahead of the curve in who becomes big in music for once, a friend from home (who has claimed to have liked Young the Giant, Khalid and Tove Lo all before they became “mainstream”) suggested I check out British artist Nao‘s sophomore album, Saturn.  The self-described “wonky funk” artist and East London native is well established in her home country; she performed in the Glastonbury Festival and even earned a Brit nomination in 2017 for Best British Female Solo Artist for her 2016 album For All We Know. I’m hoping Saturn, released on October 26, will put … Continued
