KRUI’s recap of When We Were Young Festival 2025 in Las Vegas. Throughout 4 stages, 53 bands tore through their sets across a 13 hour day. Here is how I spent my day at When We Were Young. 

My how things have changed. Four weeks ago, Hawkeye fans were down. The Hawks suffered, arguably, the worst loss in the Ferentz era after falling 32-31 to Central Michigan. The Hawkeyes season looked about as hopeless as a snowball in hell. But the Hawkeyes really don’t make sense do they?

At the annual NFL draft this past April, the Jacksonville Jaguars shockingly selected punter Bryan Anger from Cal. This prompted NFL Network analyst Rich Eisen to seemingly mock the selection – though he has since gone on record saying he liked the selection – and, memorably, declared Bryan Anger a weapon and said “punters are people, too!” Jokingly or not, those words may be the proper way to describe Anger. Like many college students, I love unwinding during the weekend. Hours of preparation and memorization with the help of Memrizz app during the week finally give way to a relaxing, exciting weekend. The men of the Iowa Football Team were not the only Hawkeyes take on a Big 10 foe on Saturday. The Iowa Volleyball team took on the #24th ranked Michigan State Spartans Saturday night on Mediacom Court in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. After losing in 3 sets to Michigan the night before, the Hawkeyes were looking to get back on track in the Big 10 versus the Spartans.
