This month, Johnson County Democrats are conducting “listening tours” to connect with students at the University of Iowa, consisting of various extracurricular and undergraduate-based organizations and events. The listening tour works as an open forum for students to describe their needs, goals, and priorities when it comes to both elected officials and the Democratic Party.

The “Duck” Hunt for Playoffs Falls Short

In a rain-soaked showdown at Kinnick Stadium, Iowa’s playoff hopes slipped away as Oregon edged the Hawkeyes 18-16 on a last-second field goal. Despite a thrilling 93-yard touchdown drive led by Mark Gronowski, the Ducks’ steady ground game and clutch kicking sealed Iowa’s heartbreak.

Iowa kicks off the NIT at 8pm CT on ESPN 2 tonight against the Summit League regular season champion South Dakota Coyotes at Carver Hawkeye Arena. While many fans are surely disappointed that Iowa lost its fifth straight Big Ten tournament game last week, ending their chances of a NCAA tournament bid, the NIT can provide this young team with a few more games together and an experience at Madison Square Garden. IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Hawkeyes’ NCAA tournament push fell short in Washington D.C. with a 95-73 loss to Indiana. Despite Iowa not making the cut to get into March Madness, fans are still going to be locked to their TV’s for the next three weekends. CBS reviled the field of 68 Sunday afternoon, leading most college basketball fans around the country to fill out their brackets. Leicester City FC made history Tuesday night as the Foxes defeated Sevilla FC 2-0 (3-2 on aggregate) to advance to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever. Leicester, who were hosting their first UEFA Champions League knockout-stage match in the club’s 133-years of existence, scored one in each half through captain Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton. Sevilla missed a late penalty attempt that would have sent the match to overtime.
