The third edition of Minnesota Yacht Club has wrapped was a resounding success. Through sweltering temperatures, heat lightning, and rain drops, none of it phased the over 35,000 fans who came each day to Harriet Regional Park. Celebrating music and summer on the water, it continues to be a highlight for the thousands of Minnesotans and the travelers. Friday Pat Kennedy is a name will be known far and wide very soon. Hailing from Boston, and a recent graduate of Berklee, Kennedy dances the oh so fine line of bringing classic cassette rock and roll with a modern push. Through … Continued

Sitting in Tampa Bay Times Forum on a Sunday evening back in December, I took in game between the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning. In that game, Rangers star goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, in his first game back from injury, made 37 saves and the blue shirts power play went a perfect 3-3 in route to a hard fought 4-3 victory. In what may have seemed like a meaningless regular season win to many, what I saw that evening made me believe that this version of the Rangers could defy the odds and bring the Stanley Cup back to … Continued
Alas, the party is over in Pittsburgh. The brick wall that plays goaltender for the New York Rangers halted the drive to Sidney Crosby’s second Stanley Cup Tuesday, in yet another curious playoff exit for Head Coach Dan Bylsma and company. Indeed, Henrik Lundqvist was superb for his Rangers, who magnificently clawed their way out of a 3-1 series deficit to win the decisive game 7 on the road. But, where was Crosby in all of this? So promising was this season’s Penguins reincarnation, fresh off getting bulldozed by the Boston Bruins last June. After all, they did return most … Continued
Let’s cut to the chase. On Tuesday April 29th, 2-sport athlete, Jameis Winston of Florida State University, was caught stealing $32 worth of crab legs and crawfish from a Florida supermarket. For the charges to be dropped, he has to comply to the civil suite he was issued and complete at least 20 hours of community service. I’M PERFECTLY OKAY WITH HIM STEALING THE CRAB (AND CRAWFISH). Here’s why: 1. He stole the food. He wasn’t GIVEN the food by an “anonymous booster.” The crazy thing is, I bet this would have been blown out of proportion even more if some … Continued
