Soldier Field finally had something to celebrate again, as the Chicago Bears snapped their eight-game losing streak to the New Orleans Saints with a 26-14 win. Powered by a dominant defense and resurgent run game, the Bears overcame offensive struggles to notch their fourth straight win and move to 4-2 on the season.

IOWA CITY- The Hawkeyes (3-2) overcame a slow start to close out the Pepperdine Waves (3-1) on Monday night at Carver Hawkeye Arena. Iowa scored the first basket of the game and never trailed as they came away with a 72-61 victory. Aaron White yet again paved the way for the Hawkeyes, leading Iowa with 17 points. IOWA CITY, Iowa–The 14th ranked Wisconsin Badgers traveled to Kinnick Stadium Saturday to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes, not only for the rights to the Heartland Trophy, but also for a shot to represent the Big Ten West in Indianapolis at the Big Ten title game. Although Iowa outscored Wisconsin 21 to 10 in the second half, the Hawkeyes fell short, losing 26-24. With a victory over rival Minnesota next week, Wisconsin will clinch the Big Ten West Title. Iowa City, IOWA- The University of Iowa Women’s Basketball team won its opening game of The Hawkeye challenge on Friday 97-68 over a pesky Pepperdine Waves squad. Ally Disterhoft got The Hawks off to another quick start, scoring the team’s first five points en route to her fourth career double-double: she finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. However, The Lady Hawkeyes were challenged by The Waves in the first half as they were unable to pull away. The Iowa Hawkeyes came out and took control for the entire meet today at the Iowa City Duals. No mercy was shown as the Hawks defeated Baker College 55-0, Iowa Central 49-3, and Cornell College 55-0. The domination that was present can be expressed in any number of ways as far as the statistics go: the hawkeyes had 19 falls and another 6 technical falls in 30 matches, half of Iowa’s matches ended with a pin in the 1st period, and the hawkeyes even had a win by injury default due to sophomore Sammy Brooks taking down Baker’s Bryant Guillen … Continued

IOWA CITY- The Hawkeyes (2-0) used a quick start and an impressive defensive push to ignite a 87-56 victory over the North Dakota State Bison (0-2) in front of 12,333 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa used an early 11-2 run to begin the game and never looked back. The Hawkeyes carried a 43-26 lead into the locker room at the break, shooting 51.5% from the field and 5-12 (41.7%) from three.
