Interview: KRUI With The Plain White T’s

At When We Were Young 2025, fellow Chicago area natives Plain White T’s sat down with me as we discussed how the local scene has changed, their tour with We The Kings, and how Las Vegas scares us all the slightest bit. We started the conversation out by sharing a mutual love of Death Cab for Cutie:

This week’s track of the week is, “Mother” by Said The Whale. The track starts with light beats, along with lyrics suggesting that we are always trying to show a good image to others. It’s about time we had a Track of the Week again, so here we go! This summer hit single is gaining momentum on alternative radio, and with good reason. The track is called “Chocolate”, (the video is posted below), by The 1975. The alternative English group signed with UK based Indie label, Dirty Hit, in January of 2012.
