On a regular Thursday in March, I discovered underscores while scrolling on Tiktok. I worked my way through her discography and eventually fell down a rabbit hole of hyperpop. Her take on electronic and pop music is deeply refreshing and her captivating sound is definitely one to pay attention to.

Six minutes into Friday’s season opener, the Iowa women’s basketball team looked a little rusty, and were tied 6-6 with Northern Illinois. Then the floodgates opened. The Hawkeyes scored 28 of the half’s final 35 points, providing a key difference in a 63-40 victory Friday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Show Review: Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys on IPR’s “Java Blend” — 11/9/12

Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys, an original bluegrass group based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, hit the scene at Iowa Public Radio’s Java Blend Stage November 9. The band played several tracks from their latest album, Release Your Shrouds, including favorites like “My Side of the Mountain” and “The Power.” And you could tell even from their sound check that the band is smooth. The group consists of Lindsay Rilko on rhythm guitar and vocals,  Josh Rilko on mandolin, Spencer Cain on bass, Keith Bilik on banjo, and Mark Lavengood on dobro guitar.
