NFC North Midseason Superlatives

Traditionally, superlatives are given out at the end of the year – a fun reflection on the times we had and the people we met. But this year, since nothing has been traditional, I’ve decided to give out superlatives at the halfway point in the season. IOWA CITY – Young, Tenacious, and Ready to Dance. When describing the 2017 Iowa Basketball team, these concepts first come to mind. Each of the previous renditions of the squad in recent years made promises which were not kept. Past teams lead by players Peter Jok, Jarrod Uthoff, and Aaron White set bars high with little result to show. However, the Hawkeye program does have results of the rise, which began in 2010. In the realm of college football, the Big Ten is often considered one of the best top-to-bottom conferences in the nation. It is home to 13 Heisman trophy winners, 22 national titles, six NFL starting quarterbacks and currently holds four of the top 11 teams in the AP Poll.   This storied conference is rich in past glory, but the teams continue to make history every year. IOWA CITY, Iowa – Northwestern came to Iowa City on Saturday October 1st with the least-efficient offense in the Big Ten through their first four games of the season. You would not have known it after watching their offense work against the Iowa defense. In their 38-31 victory over Iowa, the Wildcats gained 198 yards in the rushing game and 164 through the air, with the bulk of those yards going to just two players.
