Stout Defense Leads to Hawkeye Victory

IOWA CITY- The Hawkeyes (2-0) used a quick start and an impressive defensive push to ignite a 87-56 victory over the North Dakota State Bison (0-2) in front of 12,333 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa used an early 11-2 run to begin the game and never looked back. The Hawkeyes carried a 43-26 lead into the locker room at the break, shooting 51.5% from the field and 5-12 (41.7%) from three. The Iowa Hawkeye Men’s basketball season tips off in a month. It seems crazy, I know. If you paid any attention at all to last season, you’re aware of the fact that Iowa struggled down the stretch. Losing seven of their last eight games, which includes falling to Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. As most of the State of Iowa knows by now, Iowa and Iowa State men’s basketball teams will face off December 13th on ESPNU.
