Interview: Eve 6 at Innings Festival

Logan Melia sits down with Eve 6 at Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona. Eve 6 took some time after their slot to discuss their early days playing gigs at small cafes all the way to a racetrack.

The NBA Playoffs start on Saturday and all of the match-ups have been set.  Depending on your loyalties, you are either happy (Bulls fans) or mildly disappointed (Houston fans).  But luckily for you, dear readers, I will break down every match-up and then continue to make hypothetical predictions for the ensuing rounds.  This won’t end up like my college bracket, because I will be 100% correct this time.  I guarantee. Out West the first match-up is OKC vs. Houston in the 1-8 match-up.  OKC will take out Houston but it will be a fun series.  The exciting part of this … Continued

‘Fill it up’, ‘pour it in’, ‘GET BUCKETS’! We love little more than watching our favorite NBA stars score in massive quantities.  Forget the other 9 players on the court, we just want to watch our favorite artists work. When Kobe takes over in the fourth or ‘Melo goes for 45, we cannot get enough. Just look at your twitter timelines, with major sporting accounts constantly tweeting players’ insane scoring totals. If we love individual scoring this much it can only be good for our teams…right? The last player to score the most in an NBA season and win a Championship? … Continued

Imagine for a second that you are a beef cow.  You’re forced into a trailer with several others of your herd.  The truck pulling it takes off and drives to the nearest meat locker.  The farmer that has spent years feeding you, doctoring you and giving you shelter leads you into the locker, where the last thing you see is a butcher and the barrel of a gun.  After you are dismembered the farmer takes his profits from the sale of your flesh. Now imagine that just prior to being taken on that trip, the farmer whispers in your ear … Continued

Friday night in Evanston started with Kayla Massey in the circle for the Hawkeyes and Amy Letournea taking the ball for the Wildcats.  Northwestern gave Letournea an early boost, scoring four … Continued

Yesterday during the annual running of the Boston Marathon, two bombs exploded at the finish line. Chaos ensued at 2:45 p.m. as runners and spectators fled from the scene. The normally joyous occasion is now the scene of an attack. The two bombs, roughly 100 yards apart, caused two deaths and roughly 90 injuries. Police have searched the area for evidence to a motive behind these attacks. Numerous suspicious packages were found around the area but findings have showed that this is due to people fleeing the scene. A third blast came from the John F Kennedy Presidential Library shortly … Continued

In recent and perhaps obvious news, Kobe Bryant is out for the next 6-9 months recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. This is just an addition to the already rocky season the Lakers have had. Kobe says that he was making a move that he does a million times and it just went out. He tried applying pressure but “there was nothing there.” This recent injury brings up the topic of injuries in the NBA, and amongst athletes in general. Injuries are all too common especially in fast paced, and high intensity sports that require extreme amounts of pivoting and … Continued

By: Grayson Schmidt More than any other sport, baseball is a sport of patience. This holds true as a player, and as a fan. 162 games is a long (almost too long) season and since we are only two weeks in, overreaction should be kept to a minimum. Baseball is a streaky game and a team dominating or struggling after only playing around 12 games is no cause for panic. However, I do feel as if the past 14 days have shown us a lot about our own expectations. So I am here to simply make observations and point out … Continued
