At this point, everybody knows about the crazy week that took place in Iowa City. All Big Ten left tackle Brandon Scherff had his knee scoped, and defensive end Drew Ott was involved in a scooter accident. All week there were question in the air whether these two key contributors would be able to play against the Iowa State Cyclones, if at all for the Hawkeyes. Work hard, Play harder! It was a long day for Hawkeye fans but in the end the Hawks came out on top with Duzey having the Game winning 12 yard touchdown with one minute left. Jake Duzey is a junior Tight End at Iowa from Michigan who stands 6’4 and weights 245. He has pretty good speed for a route running TE. His Freshman year his role was very small behind C.J. With the new college football playoff set to debut this winter, teams around the country are beginning to schedule tougher non-conference opponents to coincide with their grueling conference slates. After all, victories in conference games will get you in the discussion for one of the four vaunted spots in the new playoff bracket. Victories in the non-conference slate will gain admittance.
