Logan Melia sits down with Eve 6 at Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona. Eve 6 took some time after their slot to discuss their early days playing gigs at small cafes all the way to a racetrack.

Not currently on tour, the band made it all the way to Iowa City for a special performance and managed to give a hauntingly powerful show. Opening bands Emperor’s Club and Tires set the mood just right – not too raucous, not too quiet. Even as early on as 7 PM, Iowa City was thick with celebration in the air with a majority of its residents eagerly ushering in the weekend by choosing to bask in live music. By Gabrielle Pawlikowski At Gabe’s on Tuesday night Rhys Chatham gave an incredible performance. He played three songs totaling an hour, but for anyone familiar with his music and status as a No Wave precursor, the night seemed much shorter. Chatham’s minimalist/avant garde compositions can’t be pulled off with just one guitar without a slew of effect units, so Chatham invited members of local IC bands for help.
