After eight years of radio silence, rapper, producer, model and fashion designer ASAP Rocky finally released his latest studio album “Don’t be Dumb”. After a couple of listens, the album certainly demonstrated its charm and charisma. While it wasn’t quite up to par with his earlier records, it’s still a great listen on its own.

Iowa played pitifully against Indiana in the first half, and despite that some experts are saying that Iowa should be in the tournament. The Big Ten is the strongest conference in the nation so far this year, but Iowa sits at 18-11 and 7-9 in the Big Ten with only one game to go in conference. Yes, Iowa has lost a lot of close games, but winning those games are a quality of a tournament team something that Iowa probably isn’t. Iowa Basketball: How is Melsahn Basabe performing as a starter?

After Coach Fran McCaffery stated that junior Melsahn Basabe had earned a starting spot on the roster, Basabe was put to use, replacing Anthony Clemmons as a starter. Now that he has started four games, we can examine some of his play and judge the move. Iowa is 2-2 in those games with the two losses coming against a ranked Minnesota team and a double overtime loss in Madison, Wisconsin against the Badgers.  He’s averaging 21 minutes now, not far from where he was before. Iowa Basketball: After Blowout Loss, Olaseni Shines Through as Positive

The Michigan Wolverines blew out the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team 95-67 in Ann Arbor on Sunday, but one positive to take from it was the play from Gabriel Olaseni. He played 14 minutes and racked up 8 points, 2 rebounds and 1 block in the second Big Ten game for the Hawkeyes. Those stats may not jump off the page, but compared to the 5 minutes and 1.4 points per game he averaged last year it’s a progression that is very welcome and needed depth at the center position. Saturday Games: Purdue @ MSU Purdue is coming off of a home victory against No. 11 Illinois this week after a terrific performance from Terone Johnson who led the Boilermakers in points, rebounds and assists.  They’ll need another great performance from him to even have a chance against a good Michigan State team. Iowa Wrestling Takes Down Iowa State 32-3

The Iowa wrestling team took care of business against their in-state rivals, the Iowa State Cyclones, in their dual match at Carver-Hawkeye Arena 32-3. The Hawkeyes made it look easy by winning all but one matchup. Iowa came into the dual 6-0 and looking for a final tune-up before taking on a ranked opponent. It proved to be a successful one, and the night was dominated by the Hawkeyes, not letting up on the Cyclones and embarrassing the in-state rival who has seen a significant drop off since losing Cael Sanderson as their head coach. Iowa survives scare against Gardner-Webb, 65-56

The Iowa men’s basketball team survived a scare from the Gardner-Webb University Runnin’ Bulldogs 65-56 after trailing by 23 in the first half. The Hawkeyes started the second half with a 13-0 run and outscored Gardner-Webb 47-18 in the 2nd half. The struggle from the free-throw line continues though, Iowa was 21-32 from the line on the game and is shooting 66% on the season. The first half saw Devyn Marble and Mike Gesell held scoreless and the Hawkeyes commit 11 turnovers. They only had five total field goals at halftime.
