Devyn Marble is hurt. At least, we thought so. There has been talks all week about Marble and his turf toe injury and if this was slowing him down at all. He put all the speculation to rest with his 21 point outburst Saturday night in Iowa City where he led the Hawkeyes to a 71-57 win over the Northwestern Wildcats. Marble wasted no time getting in on the action as he started the game off with a monster dunk to give the Hawkeyes the lead. “He was spectacular,” Fran McCaffery said of Marble’s play. Spectacular indeed, Marble followed up … Continued
Trash-talking is a fun thing for people to engage in while on and off the playing fields of their respective sports. However, sometimes this trash-talking can be taken too far and over the past couple of days we have two prime examples of guys not thinking before they open their mouths. Reggie Evans and Chris Culliver are two men that people who follow sports might be looking at in a different way today as opposed to if they were asked about them a week ago. Evans, a starting forward for the now Brooklyn Nets, discounted the Miami Heat’s championship during … Continued

The young Hawkeyes appeared ready for the #5 ranked Hoosiers right from the opening tip as Adam Woodbury shut down Cody Zeller, a potential Player of the Year candidate in the NCAA, on the first two possessions of the game. Woodbury seemed to be a rock on the defensive end early in the game, however it was a different story on the offensive side. He missed 2 shots from … Continued

The first half wasn’t exactly the prettiest thing anybody watching the Iowa-Central Michigan game on Monday night at Carver Hawkeye Arena had seen. The Hawkeyes struggled to score in the first half, shooting only 35 percent from the field and 20 percent from behind the arc. Fortunately for the Hawkeyes, so did the Chippewas, who shot only 28 percent from the field and 35 percent from behind the arc. The Hawkeyes trailed early in the game 5-4 at the under 16 minute media break, with Aaron White having all four points for the Hawkeyes. Turnovers were a big part of … Continued
