Emily Woodbury spoke with Dr. Tara Smith about MRSA and the prevalence of antibiotics in Iowa’s farm community. She is the lead author of the study,”MRSA in Conventional and Retail Prok Products.” She is also the interim director of the UI center for emerging and infectious diseases, and an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Iowa. Smith also writes for The Panda’s Thumb and previously for WIRED SCIENCE‘s Correlations.
