Vaccines in Iowa: How are we doing?

As of April 5th, all Iowans are eligible to receive vaccinations. Previously, state guidelines restricted vaccines to high-risk groups such as essential workers, adults aged 65 and up, or people with pre-existing medical conditions. Now that eligibility has expanded, securing an appointment may be a difficult task. (image via Global Gazette)

Iowa Spring Practice: QB’s duel, youth arrives, and defense shines

Not since Iowa beat Illinois 19-10 on Senior Day in 2019 had the Hawkeyes played in front of home fans outside of friends and family. That streak ended Saturday morning as Iowa held it’s first of two open practices this spring with fans in attendance. Fans arrived as early as before 7 AM to get the first chance to see their Hawkeyes in person since November of 2019. Hawkeyes turn Waves into Ripples in Second Half

  Iowa City, IOWA- The University of Iowa Women’s Basketball team won its opening game of The Hawkeye challenge on Friday 97-68 over a pesky Pepperdine Waves squad. Ally Disterhoft got The Hawks off to another quick start, scoring the team’s first five points en route to her fourth career double-double: she finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Hawkeyes faced the Illinois State Redbirds on Sunday in their second game this season. Coming into the game with one win already under their belt, the Hawkeyes were in good spirits. Their confidence was easy to see, as Iowa won the beginning tipoff against the Redbirds. The high energy and fast pace were evident from the first tip. Illinois State scored first resulting in what would be their only lead throughout the entire game, 2-0.
