IOWA CITY, Iowa – After a successful (2-1) weekend in Alabama, the Hawkeyes are now officially above .500. Going into the week, Iowa was (1-2) hoping to recover from last weekend’s disappointing series with University of South Florida. The Hawkeyes did just that with a powerful win over Loras College on Wednesday, with an even better chance to improve at the Hoover Classic. IOWA CITY, Iowa – A powerful start for the Hawkeyes in their surprise home opener began to show promise for a young Hawkeyes team. The game started off strong for the Hawkeyes as they began the game off with a bang. After a single by Iowa senior Mason McCoy, two wild pitches, and two walks, the Hawkeyes quickly found themselves with bases loaded for third baseman Matt Hoeg. Iowa City – Take a step outside and what do you smell? You could get a whiff of a hopeless romantic on this Valentine’s Day. Maybe you get a false hint of Spring with this unusually warm February weather, but either way one thing is certain and that is, baseball, is in the air. Hawkeye Wrestling Back on Track

There was lots of excitement for the Iowa wrestling team last week when they beat Ohio State 21-13 on Jan. 27 after losing two meets in a row to Oklahoma State (11-24) and Penn State (11-26).This recent win brings the Hawkeye record up to 8-2 with a 4-1 record at home and a 4-1 away record and pulls Iowa up to tie with Ohio State for the third-ranked team in the Big Ten behind Penn State and Nebraska. Focusing on the Positives

Tampa, FL—- Well that didn’t go according to plan. Thousands of you brave Iowa fans traveled down to Tampa in hopes of seeing the Hawkeyes continue their hot streak. Unfortunately, the 2017 Outback Bowl resembled last year’s Rose Bowl where the Stanford Cardinals overwhelmed Iowa by a score of 45-16. I know it’s not what you had hoped for and it’s certainly easy to pick out the negatives by pointing the finger at the coaching staff and players.
