Thursday morning, the Brooklyn Nets fired head coach Avery Johnson. A .500 record would be a major step forward for the New Jersey Nets but the precedent has been set that middle of the pack is not good enough for Brooklyn.

Right now, I believe there are five teams currently projected to be in the NFC playoffs and three teams projected to be in the AFC playoffs that have a real shot at winning it all. When are the Lakers going to get it together? Remember at the start of the NBA season when the Lakers was struggling?
