BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Not a lot of offense. That was the theme during Saturday’s second quarter in Memorial Stadium. Iowa leads Indiana at halftime, 14-10. The Hawkeyes had multiple three-and-outs and couldn’t sustain a drive until the final few minutes. Even then, Iowa could not put points on the board. The Black and Gold accumulated just 34 total yards in the quarter. There have been a couple injuries today: senior corner Micah Hyde and sophomore offensive lineman Jordan Walsh have both left the game. Both players’ status is unknown. After dropping its past two games in convincing fashion, Iowa struck first on Saturday. The Hawkeyes scored about eight minutes into the game following a very efficient offensive drive of six plays for 72 yards. Quarterback James Vandenberg hit receiver Kevonte Martin-Manley for a 24-yard touchdown pass along the sidelines to put Iowa on the board. On Indiana’s first play from scrimmage following Iowa’s drive — and supplanting starter Cam Coffman with Nate Sudfeld at quarterback — linebacker Chris Kirksey intercepted Sudfeld and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown.
