By Mark Freie In the NFL, if you perform on the field and win, you get paid. New England Patriots three time Super Bowl winning quarterback, Tom Brady, recently restructured his contract guaranteeing him $57 million through 2017, assuring him his spot in Foxboro’s heart for the rest of his career. Brady, a two time Super Bowl MVP and two time regular season MVP, has proven time in and time out that he is worth every cent thrown his way. Throughout the past week, Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been speculated to being close to signing a … Continued
Every year when breaking down prospects for the NFL draft, there are certain prospects which I do not understand why they are ranked so high. Here are three players to be cautious about before drafting. 3. Ryan Nassib Nassib was a very efficient passer in his time at Syracuse. He racked up over 9,000 passing yards in his college career. Nassib seems to be a smart quarterback who gets through his progressions effectively. He posses intangibles that will translate to the next level. However, Nassib has a few mechanical issues. His footwork is highly inconsistent, especially when he is under … Continued
This week the University of Mississippi’s men’s basketball team was eliminated from the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in the round of 32. That fact is nothing remarkable. What is remarkable; however, is the dichotomy that exists in the state regarding the symbols used by the university and in the state flag and what that dichotomy tells us about our society. In 2001 the state legislature in Mississippi passed a bill that would provide for a public referendum on changing the state’s flag’s design. Everyone revolves their life around basketball—it’s the nature of bracketology. . And everyone hates upsets. But from November to February, we want every underdog to win. Monday March 25, the Miami Heat took on the Orlando Magic in a game that ended with final score of 108-94, Miami. This game marks the Heat’s 27th straight win and there’s no sign of them slowing down. The Heat are a team that either everyone loves to hate or has intense adoration for, there simply is no in between. Even though I am a part of the “Heat Hate” group I must give credit where it is due. From a facts and performance standpoint, opinions aside, there just is no other team in the NBA doing what Miami is. … Continued

The Hawkeyes arrived in Louisville, KY last Monday prepared to take on the 24th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels and the Cardinals of Ball State, but the rain clouds had other plans for the day and all games at the tournament that day were … Continued
