This month, Johnson County Democrats are conducting “listening tours” to connect with students at the University of Iowa, consisting of various extracurricular and undergraduate-based organizations and events. The listening tour works as an open forum for students to describe their needs, goals, and priorities when it comes to both elected officials and the Democratic Party.

The “Duck” Hunt for Playoffs Falls Short

In a rain-soaked showdown at Kinnick Stadium, Iowa’s playoff hopes slipped away as Oregon edged the Hawkeyes 18-16 on a last-second field goal. Despite a thrilling 93-yard touchdown drive led by Mark Gronowski, the Ducks’ steady ground game and clutch kicking sealed Iowa’s heartbreak.

With two weeks left in the NFL regular season, playoff talk is heating up. Right now, I believe there are five teams currently projected to be in the NFC playoffs and three teams projected to be in the AFC playoffs that have a real shot at winning it all. Those teams are the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots. IOWA CITY–In a truly back and forth game, Iowa was able to put their best effort forward and surge to the finish against their Cy Hawk brethren. In front of a raucous, capacity crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the home team stormed out to the early lead, thanks to aggressive play from sophomore, Aaron White and freshman, Adam Woodbury.
