SCOPE Productions is delighted to announce that Zeds Dead will be performing in the IMU Main Lounge on Wednesday, November 28. Doors open at 7 pm, and the show will begin at 8 pm.
Zeds Dead have been combining the intensity of dubstep and electronica with their passion for “dig-through-the-crates” hip-hop sampling since 2004, brewing an intense, full-bodied sound that’s as fun and fresh as it is haunting and elegant. Thanks to the skyrocketing popularity they’ve achieved with their incredible run on the summer music festival scene, the pair has transformed into a global sensation that defies genres and brings music lovers together.
Hailing from Toronto, the seasoned duo of Hooks and DC released their first independent album Fresh Beetz in 2007, and since have performed at festivals like Electric Forest, Summercamp, and the Perry’s Stage at Lollapalooza 2012. Their most recent EP, Adrenaline, is a perfectly titled mélange of roaring, party-ready beats and intricate melodies, creating unparalleled soundscapes that set the standard for contemporary electronic music performance. Zeds Dead’s ecstatic live show is sure to get the Main Lounge rocking as the band storms into Iowa City fresh from their European tour.
Tickets for this show go on sale at 10:00 am on Friday, October 5 and can be purchased at The Hub (located at 138 IMU) and at all Ticketmaster locations. A limited number of student-priced tickets will be available. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to call (319) 335-3041 for special seating accommodations.
