Campus Vote Project w/ Dan Vicuna

By KRUI Reporters Emily Woodbury and Dylan Vaughn

Across the U.S., the number of college students who vote is pretty low relative to the amount of students eligible to vote. In 2010, little more than 20% of eligible voters under 30 voted, compared to about 40% of eligible voters overall. The Fair Election’s Legal Network is working to change this by creating the Campus Vote Project. The group’s main concern is eliminating the barriers of registering and voting for college students. To talk about this, and what is being done by the project, Dan Vicuna joined us in the studio.
