Former state representative Christina Bohannan (D) and U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R) met at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, on October 20 for Iowa’s First Congressional District debate. Both candidates discussed issues weighing on Iowans’ minds, including agriculture, healthcare, and the economy. Once opening statements concluded, Bohannan and Miller-Meeks were questioned on what immediate actions they would take to lower the cost of living for Iowans. By Kif Richmann Mallory Husz committed to play volleyball at Iowa under Cindy Fredrick.  When Fredrick was released from the program, it sent Mallory’s life careening.   [audio:http://krui.fm/assets/sports//Huszfinal.MP3]   The Iowa women’s volleyball team is now getting set for spring competition, and Mallory, now a senior, will be one of five returning starters.  Although Iowa finished 7-21 in 2010, the Hawkeyes expect big gains led by Husz and other experienced leaders.
