Iowa Wraps the Bowtie on 2025 with Bowl Win Over Vanderbilt

No. 23 Iowa closed the 2025 season with a statement win, knocking off No. 14 Vanderbilt in the ReliaQuest Bowl behind a clutch performance from senior quarterback Mark Gronowski. The victory snapped Iowa’s long skid against ranked opponents and served as a fitting sendoff for a senior class that chose loyalty and one last ride together.

The Tom Brands led Hawkeye wrestlers take the mat at 3 PM to face off against Minnesota. The Hawkeyes have dropped 2 straight dual meets, for the first time since the 2006 dual season. Happy Valley was not so happy for the Hawks last week, when they went into Penn State and the defending National Champs defeated the Black and Gold by a score of 22-12. The only bright spots from the meet were McDonough, Ramos, and Marion all getting victories over formidable opponents, with McDonough’s coming in sudden-victory, with a take down over Nicholas Megaludis. The Iowa Hawkeyes came into this one off big wins against Drake and Central Arkansas and are looking to put up a another against a 9-3 Boise State team at Carver before going into the B1G conference season. The fans are packing Carver for a big game against the Blue and Orange. Getting a win in front of a pocked house would be great for Fran’s bunch going forward with Purdue coming to town next Wednesday the 28th in what will prove to be a highly attended and anticipated game for the Hawks. The Hawkeyes, coming off a very impressive victory at Carver on Saturday beating Drake, 82-68, will look to continue the fine tuning and quality play with only 2 remaining games before the B1G season gets underway. Roy Devyn Marble has exploded on the scene as a quality pg, dishing the ball to scorers around the arc and in the paint, and he will look to continue his growth as a go-to option at the 1 guard spot for the Hawks.
