One yard. That’s all Iowa needed to keep its offensive drive going with about five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Yes, the Hawkeyes did have 4th down coming up, but it was just one yard to gain in order to potentially tie or take the lead. Iowa ran up to the line of scrimmage, ready to go. The Black and Gold accumulated just 34 total yards in the quarter. There have been a couple injuries today: senior corner Micah Hyde and sophomore offensive lineman Jordan Walsh have both left the game. Both players’ status is unknown. Iowa’s defensive line — made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores … Continued

The Hawkeyes scored about eight minutes into the game following a very efficient offensive drive of six plays for 72 yards. Quarterback James Vandenberg hit receiver Kevonte Martin-Manley for a 24-yard touchdown pass along the sidelines to put Iowa on the board. On Indiana’s first play from scrimmage following Iowa’s drive — and supplanting starter Cam Coffman with Nate Sudfeld at quarterback — linebacker Chris Kirksey intercepted Sudfeld and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown. Kirksey now has two interceptions returned for touchdowns this season. … Continued
