After listening to a lot of jazz over the past week, culminating in an amazing performance by renowned trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and the PUBLIQuartet last Friday at the Stop/Time Festival presented by Hancher Auditorium, I’ve come to the conclusion that most jazz isn’t meant for an audience at all.
Tune into Local Tunes Tuesday night starting at 10 PM and ending at midnight to listen to local band “The Treats” play some of their songs live in the studio. So far, there’s no word on if they will be playing fully electric or acoustic; you’ll have to tune in to hear. We’ll also be playing some Dead Larry from their latest album “As The Radio…” one of the best local albums in recent times, Kelly Pardekooper from his 2007 release “Brand New Bag,” also some David Zollo and more!
