Iowa Wraps the Bowtie on 2025 with Bowl Win Over Vanderbilt

No. 23 Iowa closed the 2025 season with a statement win, knocking off No. 14 Vanderbilt in the ReliaQuest Bowl behind a clutch performance from senior quarterback Mark Gronowski. The victory snapped Iowa’s long skid against ranked opponents and served as a fitting sendoff for a senior class that chose loyalty and one last ride together.

Drew Ingersoll the Music Director for KRUI interviewed Dan Deacon prior to our website launch party on February 12th, 2011. This took place in the back seat of a car heading from the airport in Moline, IL to Iowa City, IA.

David Berkeley stopped by the KRUI studios on February 19 to promote his reading and musical performance at Prairie Lights. Berkeley gave us the scoop on his new album Some Kind of Cure and corresponding book, 140 Goats and a Guitar. Brothers Dominic and Philip Rabalais of Utopia Park sat down with hosts Max Johnson and Kendall McCabe of “Live From 380” on February 12th, 2011 to talk shop. They were in town to open for Dan Deacon. The Rabalais brothers, who run the cassette label Sweat Power Records, hail from Fairfield, Iowa. They talked sleep schedules, feminine sexuality, and rap careers—Dominic may or may not be launching his own soon. By Drew Ingersoll We had the pleasure of having the Wailers stop by for an intimate KRUI Underground session with us at Public Space One on Saturday, February 5th before taking stage at The Blue Moose Tap House. The crowd varied from young children to older adults who all experienced the interview by KRUI’s own Alina Perez Gomez and a two song set by The Wailers. A product of the iconic Omaha, Nebraska music scene, Tim also played in the bands The Good Life, Slowdown Virginia, and Commander Venus.
