The Iowa volleyball team came into Saturday’s game with Indiana looking to snap a nine game losing streak. The Hoosiers also were fighting a losing streak, entering Iowa City on a two-matck skid. It was the Indiana streak that came to an end, as the Hoosiers topped the Hawkeyes, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16. The Hawkeyes took a 3-1 lead in an opening set that would tip back and forth throughout. The Iowa women’s volleyball came into Wednesday’s game against Penn State looking to snap a five game losing streak. However, with the nation’s No. 1 team walking into Carver-Hawkeye Arena, a team riding a 15-game winning streak, this would not be the night. The Hawkeyes fell to Penn State 25-15, 25-19, 25-15. In the first set, the Lions came out roaring behind an efficient offensive attack. The Nittany Lions had 13 kills and just one unforced error in 24 attempts. The sparks are flying between Hall of Fame center Shaquille O’Neal and newly acquired Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard. The Hall of Famer recently called out Howard, saying that he is not the best center in the NBA. O’Neal stated that Brook Lopez and ex-Laker Andrew Bynum are better centers than Howard.
