Going For it All – Know Your Roles

Bears Win Three Games with Three Different Quarterbacks

Out of every position in major league sports, the quarterback reigns supreme as the single most impactful player on his team. A standout quarterback can transform a mediocre team into a strong contender, and a terrible quarterback can drag down an otherwise well-built team. After Caleb Williams injured his hamstring in Week 2, many fans expected the Bears to begin losing games left and right. Despite starting three different quarterbacks across four games, the Bears have managed to go 3-1.

In Week 1, Caleb Williams led his team to a monstrous 59-37 win against the Panthers. In this game, Williams threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He also got 65 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns. With a completion percentage of 72.4%, Williams has seemingly fixed his largest issue as a player from past years. Week 2 was much worse for the Chicago star. After their offense only managed 3 points while fighting against a Brian Flores led defense in heavy rain, Caleb suffered a grade two hamstring injury that would lead to him missing the next couple weeks.

Case Keenum filled the Caleb Williams sized void in Chicago’s heart by leading the Bears to a 27-7 win over the Eagles. Many fans online discussed the potential of promoting Case Keenum to the second-string quarterback, but head coach Ben Johnson disagreed. For the Week 4 matchup against the Jets, Tyson Bagent would be the team’s main quarterback.

Despite being the team’s main quarterback, Bagent was technically not the starter. In the first snap of the game, Keenum lined up under center while Bagent stood near the sideline. Keenum handed the ball off to running back D’Andre Swift before stepping off the field for the rest of the game. Because of this, Case Keenum was technically the starter for the Bears against the Jets. When asked about it, Ben Johnson said that he did this to address the many reports online stating Tyson Bagent would start. Ben Johnson hadn’t declared an official starter at this point. The head coach decided to start Keenum to get back at the insiders who were spreading baseless information.

The Bears would win their matchup 23-12. While the score makes the game look somewhat close, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Bears had 492 total yards on offense and possessed the ball for over forty-two minutes. They also recorded a franchise record of thirty-four first downs, which is more than the thirty-two total snaps from the Jets. With this dominant win, the Bears have officially won all three of their games where their leading quarterback played every snap. With a game against the division rival Packers on the way, the Bears are hopeful for Caleb Williams to return to help take down their biggest rivals.

Seattle Backs Out of Signing Joe Mixon

Now that both Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet are on IR, the Seahawks are in dire need of a new running back. Reports came out that the Seahawks were signing veteran Joe Mixon to their practice squad. After missing the 2025 season due to a non-football-related injury, he was expected to sign with the Seahawks. Ironically, the Seahawks backed out and decided not to sign him after a failed physical. With multiple weeks left until one of the team’s two leading backs is ready to play, this run-first offense will suffer against teams like the 49ers and Broncos.

Will Reichard Leads Vikings in Points Scored

Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard watches a kick sail through the uprights (John Autey / Pioneer Press).

With the quarterback being the most important position on the field, it’s easy for fans to forget about the importance of a team’s kicker. Whenever your team scores a touchdown, there’s more than a 90% chance that your kicker will run onto the field for the chance of putting up an easy extra point. Whenever your team gets to their fourth down, unless your coach’s name is Dan Campbell or Ben Johnson, they’re probably going to go for a field goal.

It’s common for fans to only acknowledge a kicker’s existence when they make a mistake, rather than when they play well. In Week 18 of last season, the rookie Tyler Loop missed a game winning field goal that would’ve sent the Ravens to the playoffs. Despite only missing three other field goals throughout the year, Tyler Loop was bashed for costing the Ravens their postseason. Instead of pointing out the team’s 1-5 start, the media decided to target the rookie for missing a single field goal.

Since Week 2, the Vikings have scored a total of 47 points. 6 points were scored off a punt returned for a touchdown, and another 6 were scored by the defense. Where did the other 35 points come from? Will Reichard. Against the Bears and the Dolphins, Reichard was the only player on the Vikings to score any points. Reading this, you might think that the Vikings have probably been doing terribly. On the contrary, the Vikings are currently at the top of the NFC North with a record of 4-0. After a 39-22 victory against the Packers in Week 1, the Minnesota kicker has led the team in scoring by a very wide margin.

The Detroit Lions: Your Favorite Quarterback’s Favorite Team

The Lions have been suffering the effects of their pitiful secondary over the past four weeks. The secondary has been a major issue for this team throughout their recent life as a contender, and that issue remains true as ever. The Lions have allowed an astounding 304 passing yards per game, which is on pace for 5168 yards over a full season. This is nearly 100 yards per game more than last year. Their performance can be attributed to a mix of injuries and defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard not living up to expectations.

In games against the Lions, Tyler Shough passed for 410 yards, Josh Allen passed for 248, Geno Smith passed for 321, and Bryce Young passed for 329. The Lions offense has thankfully stepped up to the impossible task of outscoring their defense. Jared Goff has already thrown for 1214 yards and is on pace for a career high 5160 yards. Their offense is ranked fifth in the league with 29.8 points per game, while their defense has allowed 31.8 points per game. The Lions may be able to save their secondary with the return of Brian Branch and a major free agent signing or a notable trade.

The Rams’ Incredible Offseason…

The Los Angeles Rams have been off to a disappointing 2-2 start to the 2026 season, after being propped up as a Superbowl favorite (Bill Streicher / Imagn Images).

Last season, the Los Angeles Rams had a record of 12-5 and appeared in the NFC Championship game. A narrow loss to the Seahawks stripped Sean McVay’s team of their chance at winning a ring. Led by MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford, their offense was first in the league in points scored and yards gained. Former fifth-round pick Puka Nacua had 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns throughout the regular season and was ranked as the seventh-best player in the league according to the NFL Top 100.

The Rams must’ve been paying attention to that list, because in the offseason the Rams traded for Myles Garrett, who was ranked as the best player in the NFL Top 100 after breaking the single-season sack record. The Rams then doubled down on rebuilding their D-line by signing 3x DPOY and future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald.

The only real problem holding this team back was a mediocre secondary. Instead of simply drafting one or two high-upside defenders, the Rams did what they do best. They traded their first-round pick away. In a trade with the Chiefs, the Rams gave up their 2026 first, fifth, and sixth-round picks alongside a 2027 third-rounder in exchange for cornerback Trent McDuffie. Only snagging one cornerback from the Chiefs wasn’t enough, because the Rams also signed Jaylen Watson to join their revamped secondary.

…and The Rams’ Disappointing Regular Season

The Rams were shaping up to be the single strongest team in the NFL by a wide margin. Their already elite offense was now being paired with possibly the best defensive unit in the league. However, going into Week 5, this team sits at a measly 2-2 record. In Melbourne, they lost to the division rival 49ers 27-7. Many were quick to pin the loss on the team being jet lagged because they only left for the game a day prior. However, their future performances wouldn’t do the Rams any favors. After a blowout win against the Giants, the Rams lost to the Broncos despite having a sixteen-point lead going into halftime. The Rams brought their record back to .500 after a comeback win against the Eagles. For a team that was expected to win the Super Bowl, a point differential of +2 doesn’t look very promising.

The Rams’ future looks bright. After a tough matchup against the Bills, the Rams will face the Raiders, Chargers, Commanders, and the Cardinals twice before their bye week. With most of these teams sitting below .500, it’s entirely possible that the Rams will go into their bye week with only two or three losses. Their schedule afterwards is significantly harder but still features matchups against weaker teams like the Packers and Buccaneers. Myles Garrett is currently on IR after undergoing knee surgery. Even though he doesn’t have a set return date, it’s likely that he’ll be back on the field in time for the Rams to face their post-bye week opponents.

In a time where the Browns and Raiders are 3-1 and the Texans and Chargers are both 0-4, the Rams might just be the most shocking team of the year so far. The Rams have one of the strongest rosters the league has seen, they’re led by phenomenal coaching, and they’re facing a reasonable enough schedule. At 2-2, the Rams have shown the nation that the phrase “any given Sunday” remains more prevalent than ever. No team in this league is truly unstoppable.

The Hit New Minecraft Let’s Play Series

Mike Tomlin recently revealed the Minecraft world that he has been working on over the past twelve years. This isn’t like the worlds you make with your friends during a two-week Minecraft phase; this is a full city with unique buildings. After living in Pittsburgh for so long, Tomlin must’ve wanted to know what it’d be like to live in a real city.

After downloading Minecraft, Mike Tomlin’s performance as a head coach plummeted. In the seven seasons prior to the start of his Minecraft world, he had appeared in two Super Bowls while winning one of them and had a 5-3 record in the playoffs. After starting his Minecraft world, he failed to even appear in a Super Bowl and only had a playoff record of 3-9. His first YouTube video showcasing his world currently sits at 3.3 million views, and features comments from the official accounts of Minecraft and the NFL. Basic logic dictates that playing Minecraft isn’t the reason behind his later failures, but it’s funny to think it could be.

Will The Titans Recover from 0-4?

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward has struggled to start his sophomore season, as the Titans are among the worst teams in the NFL (Patrick Smith / Getty Images).

Last week, I reviewed four of the winless teams and judged the likelihood for them to improve on their horrendous start to the season. Shockingly, every team that went 0-3 lost in Week 4, meaning the list of winless teams hasn’t changed. When analyzing the winless teams, I forgot to investigate the Titans. The team slipped my mind during my research and fell through the cracks; this section is my redemption for all eight of the Tennessee Titans fans.

Over the past couple years, the Titans have been one of the weakest teams in the league. Strictly going off draft order, the Titans were the single worst team in the NFL throughout the 2024 season, and they were the fourth worst team in the 2025 season. Now, they’re one of five franchises that have yet to record a win.

This team’s roster is only above the Dolphins in terms of general strength. Their offensive line still stands as one of the worst in the league. This has been true for years and it’s a major factor in Cam Ward’s lack of production throughout his first twenty-one starts. With Carnell Tate being the only standout receiver on the roster, Cam Ward is a quarterback with a lot of potential and little way to show it. The Titans’ defense thankfully fares a bit better. Their interior d-line is one of the best in the league, in large part because of defensive anchor Jeffery Simmons. A newly revamped secondary has allowed this team to properly limit the success of opposing quarterbacks. In four games, they’ve allowed 209.8 passing yards per game, which is good for thirteenth in the league. Their rushing defense has allowed 122.8 yards per game, which slots them at 24th in the league. Not good, but not horrible. Hopefully new head coach Robert Saleh, formerly a defensive coordinator for the 49ers and head coach for the Jets, will be able to reignite this team’s defense.

The most divisive player on this team is easily their quarterback, Cam Ward. He only threw for 3169 yards and 15 touchdowns as a rookie. He matched Jaxson Dart’s passing touchdown total despite starting in five more games. Cam Ward’s biggest strength is his ability to protect the football. Even though he was playing behind a horrible o-line, throwing to lackluster receivers, and was led by deranged coaching, Cam Ward only turned the ball over nine times last season. After watching the league bash former first-overall picks like Bryce Young and Trevor Lawrence for not living up to expectations, I’m not ready to give up on Cam Ward. Considering the weakness of the Titans’ roster, more time is needed to truly tell whether Cam Ward will continue to work out as a starter.
