The Iowa Hawkeyes (3-1) and the Purdue Boilermakers (2-2) open up Big Ten conference play inside Ross-Ade Stadium at noon ET today.
There are a few headlines that will be interesting to see how things unfold for the Hawkeyes. Like, will sophomore quarterback C.J. Beathard really start today for the Hawkeyes? We think so, but we’ll see. If he does start, will he play well enough to keep the starting job over injured QB Jake Rudock?
Rumor has it Iowa running back Damon Bullock didn’t make the trip. Obviously we don’t know until the game starts. I have yet to see him on field.
Iowa didn’t arrive in West Lafayette last night until 9:30pm ET because of travel issues. Curfew was supposed to be 9:15pm. They planned on flying but because of a fire in a Chicago airport, the charter plane they had planned on taking couldn’t make it to Cedar Rapids. We’ll find out if this issue carries out onto the field.
