Sports Fan Weekend Planner

On Campus:

Iowa baseball brings in the Hoosiers. If the weather holds up, the Hawkeye baseball team will play three games against the Indiana Hoosiers at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City.  Indiana is one of the top teams in the Big Ten, with a 21-11 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the conference.  Iowa will look to win their first Big Ten series, as they are currently 2-4 against Big Ten opponents. Friday’s game starts at 6:05 and will be featured on the Big Ten Network, while both Saturday and Sunday’s matches are scheduled for 1:05

Hawkeye women’s tennis stays home. The Iowa women’s tennis team will welcome the Michigan State Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.  Iowa will play MSU on Friday night at 5:00, while Sunday’s match against Michigan is a morning event scheduled for 11:00.

April football! The only sport on campus that can attract fans to a practice, the Iowa football team will hit the turf on Saturday for an afternoon display in front Hawkeye fans seeking a glimpse of next year’s talent.  The spring game will start at 1:00, and while there is no charge for the event, fans are encourage to donate a non-perishable food item.

Hawkeye softball plays two against the Wildcats. The Iowa softball team has won three of it’s last four, including a series sweep of the MSU at home, and will try to keep climbing the Big Ten ladder as they take on Northwestern this weekend.  Saturday’s game will start at 2:00 while Sunday’s contest will begin at 1:00.

Off Campus:

Track and Field in Des Moines. Hawkeye fans in the Des Moines area can check out some track and field action as members of the Iowa team travel to the Jim Duncan Invitational. The event is scheduled for all day on both Friday and Saturday.

Watch and Listen:

NBA playoffs are here! The NBA ramps up it’s action for the playoffs, starting with the top seeded Bulls taking on the below .500 Pacers at noon (central time) on Saturday.  Other notable matchups include the Lakers and Hornets tipping off at 2:30, and the Knicks vs Celtics, starting Sunday at 6:00.
