Spring break is starting, but for those of you sticking around, there will be some events to check out.
On Campus:
Hawkeye Tennis welcomes the Cornhuskers. Nebraska come to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex on Sunday afternoon at 2:00. The #36 ranked Huskers, whose only loss is to #20 Northwestern, are 10-1 overall, while Iowa will be looking to break a four match losing streak. Iowa does have a ranked individual, #102 Sonja Molnar, who is 5-1 this spring.
Off Campus:
Roughriders play two at the Stable. The Cedar Rapids Roughriders, who are in 2nd place in their division(31-10-5), take on Souix Falls Stampede and Tri City Storm on Friday and Saturday, respectively. While Tri City is a perfect .500 (19-19-10), Souix Falls (28-15-6) holds 2nd place in their division. The puck drops at 7:05 for both games.
Watch and Listen:
Gym-Hawks on Big Ten Network. It you’ve never had the chance to watch collegiate gymnastics, catch the replay of Iowa and Penn State competing in Minnesota. The Hawkeyes faced tough competition last weekend and fell behind #4 PSU and #8 Minnesota. Iowa had strong performances in the floor excersize and the pommel horse. The replay can be seen at 11:00 on Saturday morning.
Indoor Track and Field on TV. The Hawkeye men’s and women’s team will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Collge Station, Texas. There will be a tape delay of the action on March 16th, but you can catch live coverage of the events on ESPN3 and NCAA.com Also, the Big Ten Indoor Championships from last weekend will be aired on tape delay throughout the weekend on the Big Ten Network.
Chicago Bulls take on Atlanta. MVP canidate Derrick Rose looks to keep Chicago (45-18) rolling as he takes his playoff bound Bulls into the United Center to take on the Hawks. Atlana (37-27) is a likely playoff team in the East, and a potential first round matchup for the Bulls. The game will be on Comcast at 7:00 on Friday night.
