Come Celebrate KRUI’s Birthday at Gabes on Monday March 28th:
Rubblebucket – From Brooklyn, NY with a new record coming out in the Spring, “Rubblebucket sounds like a kaleidoscope looks — a continually changing pattern of ebullient drum beats, harmonies and horn exclamations, led by the buoyant vocals and saxophone of Kalmia Traver and the hyperkinetic energy of trumpet player Alex Toth.” via Facebook
Birds and Batteries – You should know them by now. We’ve hosted them several times here in Iowa City and have been in for an in-studio performance before. They hail from San Francisco and will rock your socks off.
Doors at 7:00 PM Show at 8:00 PM. $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Our Annual Pizza Party will be at The Mill on Tuesday March 29th!
Colour Revolt – Oh man, good old southern Mississippi rockers who we will be catching Iowa City mid-tour. In the past they have performed at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Bonnaroo. In 2008, “Plunder, Beg, and Curse” was named as one of the top 50 releases of 2008 from PASTE Magazine and have been featured in sites such as Stereogum.
