R&B songstress Janelle Monáe and the New York City-based indie pop band Fun visited the IMU on 10/12/11 for a SCOPE show. Earlier that day, Fun. sat down with KRUI’s music director Max Johnson for a quick interview before playing a free show in the Iowa Memorial Union’s east lobby, where students were treated to free ice cream, water bottles, and other treats. The group talked about their Iowa roots, their current Campus Consciousness Tour with R&B songstress Janelle Monáe, and their second forthcoming full-length album.
